Newtek Business Services Corp. Declares Third Quarterly Cash Dividend of $0.50 per Share
NEW YORK, October 1, 2015 - Newtek Business Services Corp. (Newtek or the Company) (NASDAQ: NEWT), an internally managed business development company (BDC), today announced that its board of directors declared its third quarterly cash dividend(1) of $0.50 per share (based on 10.3 million shares of Newtek Common Stock currently outstanding), payable on November 3, 2015 to shareholders of record as of October 22, 2015. This dividend represents the Companys third dividend declaration since the Companys conversion to a BDC on November 12, 2014. The Company currently expects to pay an annual cash dividend of approximately $1.82 per share for 2015 based on a current outstanding share count of 10.3 million shares.
The Companys board of directors expects to maintain a dividend policy with the objective of distributing four quarterly distributions in an amount that approximates at least 90% to 98% of the Companys annual taxable income.
The determination of the tax attributes of the Companys distributions is made annually as of the end of the Companys fiscal year based upon its taxable income for the full year and distributions paid for the full year.
